Despite another good performance from Hawick, they came up short as Dunfermline batsman Vasu Reddy scored an unbeaten century to seal the victory for the hosts.

The home side's number three scored an unbeaten 106 with the next highest scoring batsman for the Fife outfit only managing to score 12 which shows how pivotal that one player was.

After being put in to bat, Hawick lost opener Bruce Mactaggart early doors but Liam Garnett looked in good touch before being trapped lbw for 10 making the score 34 for 2. Gary Alexander and Pierce Solley built a solid partnership worth 31 before Alexander was bowled for 37. Solley batted well for 34 as Hawick looked to press on but the hosts took wickets at key times. Evan and Ronan Alexander looked to up the intensity in the final 10 overs with the score just over 100. However, in form Evan was bowled for 15 before Ryan Johnston and Gareth Welsh were both dismissed in quick succession. However Hawick skipper Ronan Alexander timed his innibgs well as he top-scored with 43 from 36 balls and was well supported by Morgan Tait who added 12 as the visitors accelarated to 171 from their 40 overs.

Hawick got off to the perfect start in reply as Johnston and Alexander each claimed a wicket in their opening overs to reduce Dunfermline to 2 for 2. Gary Alexander gotin on the act to make it 29 for 3 as his perfect delivery tickled the top of off stump. Then a frustrating partnership took the game into the balance with Reddy dominated almost all of the scoring before a quick brace of wickets from Welsh got Hawick back into the match including a well taken catch by youngster Harris Brogan.

Gary Alexander also grabbed his second wicket of the game but it was too little too late for Hawick who never gave up but Reddy's unbeaten ton was enough to give the hosts the victory and maintain their unbeaten start to the season. Hawick were also dealt a blow when Alexander was struck by the ball on the thumb fielding off his own bowling which looks set to keep him out of action for six weeks.
