Hawick v Kelso 20/20

Ronan, 29 May 2017 18:07

Hawick 55 all out
Kelso 57 for 6
Kelso win by 4 wickets
Hawick made a Kelso side four divisions above them fight really hard for a four wicket win at Buccleuch Park on Thursday.
The Teries batsmen struggled to get any momentum and the spin bowlers in Kelso's attack were causing problems as no batsmen made double figures.
Evan Alexander top scored with 9 as Euan and Stuart Hair made 8. It was one of Kelso's overseas players Michael Eckard from South Africa who caused most problems taking three wickets.
The young Hawick side made it difficult for the Shedden Park men as an early run out as well as Ryan Johnston and Neil Storey taking quick wickets.
Stuart Hair and Ronan Alexander continued where the previous bowlers left off with the former taking two wickets and the latter getting one wicket as he only conceded four runs in his four overs.
That made the score 21 for six but it was Kelso's other overseas player Sammy McMahon who got them over the line with an unbeaten 23.
Despite the poor batting display Hawick can still be proud of their effort with the Championship team needing until the 16th over to chase down a mere total of 55.
