Hawick & Wilton Cricket Club

Presentation Night

Hawick & Wilton Cricket Club held their end of season presentation night in the clubrooms on Saturday evening. Despite a disappointing season on the field a good turnout of players still managed to enjoy themselves as awards were handed out, along with some forfeits during the evening’s unexpected showpiece.

The first award was the Storey family trophy which was awarded to Justin Tait. Best batsmen went to Phil MacTaggart and the top bowler trophy was won by skipper Ronan Alexander.

Big-hitting Euan Hair picked up the award for most sixes in the season and the final trophy was for the Players Player of the Year with the most votes going to Ronan Alexander.

The star turn however was Rory Anderson who finished the night off in fine style with his poem recapturing season 2018. The highs, lows, funny moments and everything else that had happened were all covered leaving his audience in stiches as well as having to down a drink every time their name was mentioned.
