Boroughmuir defeat for development team

Ronan, 28 May 2018 16:04

Gala/Hawick Development team suffered their second loss of the season with a 79 run defeat at Boroughmuir 2nds at Meggetland.

Choosing to field first, the young side saw their hosts put on 97 for the first wicket before ex-Gala player Colin Siller, who used a runner after being injured very early in his innings, was out for 48 to the bowling of Jack Gammie (1 for 43).

Scott Paterson (2 for 29) and Brian Johnson (0 for 10) helped slow the run rate down but Boroughmuir still made a decent total of 192 for four.

In reply, the development team lost Gammie early on before Charis Scott (28) and Harris Rutherford (18) put on a decent partnership.

However, the only other batsman to make double figures was Paterson (23) as Gala/Hawick were all out for 113.
